Adult & Geriatric Neuropsychological Evaluations

Changes in memory, thinking, or mood can be worrying for you and your family. A neuropsychological evaluation measures how your brain is working, clarifies the diagnosis, and gives you and your doctors a clear plan.

Serving adults and families from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and across Northern California at our Napa office, with evaluations also available by telehealth in California, Washington, New York, and Texas.

What we evaluate

Why an evaluation helps

Memory and thinking problems can have many causes, including normal aging, mood, sleep, medications, medical conditions, or a neurological disorder. Objective testing helps tell these apart, provides a baseline to track change over time, and guides treatment, planning, and support.

For families and physicians

With your permission, we work with family members and your healthcare providers so that recommendations fit your daily life. We accept Medicare.

What to expect

  1. Initial conversation. We talk through your concerns, whether an evaluation is the right fit, and what records will help.
  2. Interview and records review. We gather medical and personal history and, with your permission, input from family members and your healthcare providers.
  3. Testing. Standardized tests of memory, attention, language, problem-solving, and mood, paced with breaks.
  4. Feedback and report. We explain the results in plain language and provide a written report with a clear diagnosis and practical recommendations for you, your family, and your doctors.
