Cognitive Rehabilitation

Ver esta página en español →

Cognitive rehabilitation is structured, goal-focused treatment that helps people strengthen thinking skills and find practical ways to work around challenges, so they can function more independently at home, at school, and at work. Sessions are available in person or by telehealth.

Available in person at our Napa office for clients from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and across Northern California, and by telehealth in California, Washington, New York, and Texas.

What we work on

Our approach

Treatment is guided by the results of a neuropsychological evaluation, so goals target each person's specific strengths and challenges. Sessions combine skill-building exercises with practical strategies, such as routines, memory aids, and organization systems. With your permission, we involve family members so progress carries over into everyday life.

What to expect

  1. Evaluation. We start with a neuropsychological evaluation, or a review of recent testing, to understand strengths and challenges.
  2. Personalized plan. Together we set specific, practical goals that matter in daily life.
  3. Treatment sessions. Regular sessions, in person or by telehealth, to practice skills and strategies, with activities to use between sessions.
  4. Review progress. We track progress toward each goal and adjust the plan as things improve.
